Noam Friedlander is an author, scriptwriter, playwright, columnist, interviewer and feature writer. She has written 14 non-fiction books on subjects ranging from sport, religion and entertainment to children's names and has written as a journalist for various broadsheets and magazines.[1]
She also writes scripts for TV and worked on the final UK TV series Dream Team on Sky1, as well as writing the questions and working on the production team for the UK version of Are You Smarter than a 5th Grader?, which was also shown on Sky1 as Are You Smarter Than a 10-Year-Old?[2]
Screen writing accolades
In 2015, Noam was a finalist in The Beverly Hills Film Festival Competition for her script The Red, based on her play performed at the Piven Theatre Workshop in Chicago in 2014 under the direction of Joyce Piven.[3][4][5] The same year, the script for The Red received an 'Honorable Mention' at WilliFest's Screenplay Competition (Brooklyn's Williamsburg International Film Festival)[6] and won the Screenplay Competition at the San Pedro International Film Festival.[7] In 2016, The Red was a quarter-finalist at the Austin Revolution Film Festival[8] was a ‘Preliminary Finalist’ at the 2016 Creative World Awards,[9] was a 'second rounder' at the Austin Film Festival[10] and was a runner-up at the Denver Film Festival.[11] In 2017, her script for The Red won the Best Historical Screenplay Competition at the Mediterranean Film Festival Winter Edition.[12]

She is the daughter of Rabbi Albert Friedlander.
Her 2005 book What Is Opus Dei has been translated into several languages and published worldwide.[13][14][15]
In 2008, Friedlander was shot in the back by a sniper while walking down the street in Los Angeles and wrote about it for The Guardian.[16] While in LA, Friedlander wrote regularly for Stella, the Sunday supplement of The Sunday Telegraph, interviewing celebrities such as Diane Kruger,[17] Rose Byrne,[18] Chelsea Handler,[19] Kelly Reilly,[20] Amanda Seyfried[21] and Drew Barrymore.[22] In 2015, she interviewed Salma Hayek for the cover of the deluxe edition of ES magazine (part of the Evening Standard).[23]
Friedlander is a member of the Authors Guild.[24] In 2011, she established a film production company focused on independent films.[25] She has taken part in 'storytelling' shows while living in Los Angeles, including Anna David's show True Tales of Lust and Love[26] and the Write Club event at the Bootleg Theater in Los Angeles.[27]
In 2012, Friedlander's biography of Katy Perry was published in both Europe and the United States.[28]
In 2017, Friedlander wrote and performed a one-woman show at the Hollywood Fringe Festival at Studio C @ The Asylum Theater. The show, Behind the Pulpit,[29] featured stories about her father, Rabbi Albert Friedlander. The show was sold out.[30]
Friedlander supports Queens Park Rangers.[31]
