The Noli Government is the 16th government of Albania. It was formed on 16 June 1924 and lasted until 13 December 1924.
Background
Following the death of Avni Rustemi, an Albanian patriot and politician, and accusations from the opposition parties of electoral fraud, political unrest grew in Albania. The unrest eventually led to what is known in Historiography as the " June Revolution". Following the revolution, Ahmet Zogu, the prime minister of Albania, fled to Yugoslavia, and Noli as leader of the revolution came to power.[1]

Activities
Soon after coming to power, on 19 June, Noli's coalition administration proposed a twenty-point reform program that would see the implementation of radical reforms in Albania. Scaling back the bureaucracy, strengthening local government, assisting peasants, throwing Albania open to foreign investment, and improving the country's bleak transportation, public health, and education facilities filled out the Noli government's agenda. Noli failed to implement his reforms, however, as he failed to gather financial support from the League of Nations.[3]
Under Fan Noli, the government set up a special tribunal that passed death sentences, in absentia, on Zogu, Verlaci, and others and confiscated their property.[4]
Aftermath
On 13 December 1924, Zogu's Yugoslav-backed army crossed into Albanian territory. By Christmas Eve, Zogu had reclaimed the capital, and Noli and his government had fled to Italy. The Noli government lasted just 6 months and a week.[5]
