Nomto Ochirov

Nomto Ochirovich Ochirov (10 October 1886 - 11 July 1960) was a Kalmyk ethnographer, educator, and founder of Jangar studies.
He transcribed the first collection of narratives concerning the legendary epic hero Jangar from the famed jangarchi Eelian Ovla in 1908, publishing them in 1910.[1]
He founded the first Kalmyk newspaper (Ойратские известия).[2]
