Noogin
Noogin[1] is a slur or epithet for a Norwegian invented by columnist Mike Royko on September 24, 1978.
The word originated when it was discovered that there was no epithet for a Norwegian. The reason for this was said to be because Norwegians were so well-liked and kind.[1]
Mike Royko therefore invented the word Noogin[1] as a kind of insult to a Norwegian.
The column was republished in the newspaper Columbia Missourian on 5-12-1985 under the headline "Bigots forgot slurs to knock Norwegians".[2]
