North-South Seismic Belt
Script error: No such module "AfC submission catcheck". North-South Seismic Belt (NESB) is a generic term for a series of fault zones of China. It is a complex series of rather unrelated unconnected fault zones that forms a strip runnning from Mongolia to Myanmar, roughly North South but a bit tilted. They sort of mark boundaries between East and West China, between flatter and wetter regions and drier and mountainous ones. The 2017 Jiuzhaigou earthquake hit along this region. The North China and Yangtse cratons are roughly east, while Tibetan highland and Gobi Desert areas West.
