North Star Maritime was a planned cargo airline based out of Iran which would have utilized the ex TWA Convair CV 880 fleet. Founded by the actress Terry Moore, the airline would have had all of the aircraft needed, but the airline would fail to secure to receive the necessary funding which led to the airline being closed.[1][2][3]
On June 22 1977 TWA retired it's Convair CV 880 fleet and sold them to North Star Maritime which had it's headquarters in the state of California. The airline would have converted them to freighters with the ability to transport chickens.[4]
Had the airline started up it would have been the largest cargo airline in Iran and the second largest only behind the airline Iran Air.
