Northern California Book Awards
The Northern California Book Awards are annual literary prizes that have honored the work of northern California authors and translators since 1981.[1] Awards are given for the best book published in a given year in each of five categories:[2] fiction, poetry, nonfiction, translation, and children's literature[3]. In addition, the NCBAs recognize outstanding service to the literary community through the Fred Cody Lifetime Achievement Award and NCBR Recognition Award.
The NCBAs are juried by the Northern California Book Reviewers, a volunteer group of editors, critics, reviewers, and other book professionals.[1] The awards are announced May–August, and 2020 represents their 39th year of operation.
