The Northern Ireland Bureau is an annex of the British Embassy located in Washington, D.C. It acts as the diplomatic mission of the Northern Ireland Executive in the United States (US) and Canada.[1][2]

It's main role is to promote Northern Ireland to the US and Canada as a confident and capable region, and to support delivery of the Northern Ireland Executive's ambitions and priorities for Northern Ireland.[3][4]

The NI Bureau is part of the Northern Ireland Civil Service and sits within the Northern Ireland Executive's International Relations Group. It is led by a Director at Grade 5 level as a member of the Senior Civil Service. The role is currently held by Andrew Elliot.[5][2]
