Nouera (Hangul: 누에라; RR: Nuera; stylized as NouerA) is an upcoming South Korean boy band formed through KBS2's reality competition show Make Mate 1 and managed by Nouer Entertainment. The group consists of seven members: Noh Gi-hyeon, Jeon Jun-pyo, Jang Hyun-jun, Han Yu-seop, Lin, Bing Fan, and Miraku. They are scheduled to debut on February 26, 2025, with the extended play Chapter: New Is Now.
Name
The group's name is "a combination of the French words 'nouer', which means 'to tie together,' and 'era', which means 'era,'" according to Nouer Entertainment. The seven young men have a free-spirited, forward-thinking mindset and want to become musicians who can transcend the many barriers of this time and use music to infuse the public's everyday life with new energy and stimulation.[1]
History
2024: Formation through Make Mate 1 and pre-debut activities
Nouera was formed through KBS2's reality competition series Make Mate 1, which aired from May 15 to July 17, 2024.
In August 2024, Nouer Entertainment announced that they had signed an exclusive contract with the members of Nouera.[2] On December 19, the group made their first stage on KBS2's 2024 Music Bank Global Festival in Japan with their pre-released digital single 'Infinity (無限大).[3]
Nouer announced on February 3 that Nouera will make their debut on February 26 with the first EP, Chapter: New Is Now.[4]
