Novakid is an international educational platform for learning English for children from 4 to 12 years old. Classes are held online using digital technologies and elements of gamification.[1]

History

Novakid was founded by IT entrepreneurs Maxim Azarov and Dmitry Malin. The teaching methodology and training programs were developed by Amy Krolevetskaya.[2][3]

The project started in autumn 2017, and was launched in Poland and Turkey in early 2018.[2]

In 2019-2020, Novakid entered the markets of Spain, Italy, France, Germany and Eastern Europe. During the same period, the online platform was launched in a number of countries in the Middle East and North Africa: Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and Yemen. At the end of 2020, the company entered the markets of Japan, South Korea, Indonesia and Malaysia. By 2020, the company's client base amounted to 250 thousand people, active subscribers - over 25 thousand people.[2]

As of early 2022, Novakid operates in 49 countries around the world. The client base of the online platform includes more than 500 thousand people, of which 70 thousand are regular active users. Over the 5 years of its existence, Novakid has conducted more than 2.5 million interactive English lessons.[2]

Learning Format

The training program is divided into five levels, designed for students of different ages and English proficiency levels. The training system complies with the CEFR classification. At every training stage mini-games, interactive tasks, virtual rewards and other elements of gamification are involved.[4]

The method of teaching English at Novakid is based on a communicative approach. The emphasis is on learning new material through communication and dialogue with the teacher. To teach young children, the Total Physical Response technique, game tasks and a reward system are used. With older students, they work according to the methodology of subject-language integrated learning. Together with the teacher, students discuss issues of ecology, biographies of famous people, sights of the planet and events of world history.[5]
