Novant Health Rowan Medical Center is a 268-bed hospital in Salisbury, North Carolina. A part of the Novant Health organization, Rowan Medical Center is a private, not-for-profit medical center. Prior to 1995, the hospital was called Rowan Memorial Hospital.[1]

History[edit]

Novant Health Rowan Medical Center first opened in Salisbury as Rowan Memorial Hospital on August 1, 1936. Since then, it has expanded several times.[2]

Awards/patient satisfaction[edit]

  • Novant Health Rowan Medical Center is among only 28 hospitals nationwide to be awarded the 2011 Leadership Award for Clinical Excellence from VHA Inc.[3]
  • In 2011, Novant Health Rowan Medical Center received re-certification as a primary stroke center from the Joint Commission.[4]
  • In 2009, Novant Health Rowan Medical Center was ranked 12th among the Top 100 Integrated Healthcare Networks, according to an analysis by the SDI health informatics company.[5]
