Nox Cycles is a German-Austrian bicycle manufacturer headquartered in Zillertal, Tyrol.[1][2] The company is specialized in e-mountain bikes.[3]

History[edit]

In 2004, the Nox Cycles brand was created under the umbrella of the established bicycle manufacturer Hawk Bikes. The owner of the company was Lorenz Hoser [de], who expanded his product range of city and trekking bikes to include gravity and mountain bikes.[4][5]

In the 2010s, Nox Cycles began developing electrified mountain bikes, introducing its first hybrid model with a Brose drive in 2015. From then on, the company focused primarily on e-mountain bikes,[6] and finally discontinued the production of all non-motorized bikes. At the beginning of 2017, Gaby and Carsten Sommer took over the Nox Cycles brand.[7] For this purpose, a new legal entity was established in Berlin.[8] Alongside the reorganization, a new production facility and headquarters location was established in Zell am Ziller.[9][10]
