Nox Cycles is a German-Austrian bicycle manufacturer headquartered in Zillertal, Tyrol.[1][2] The company is specialized in e-mountain bikes.[3]
History
In 2004, the Nox Cycles brand was created under the umbrella of the established bicycle manufacturer Hawk Bikes. The owner of the company was Lorenz Hoser, who expanded his product range of city and trekking bikes to include gravity and mountain bikes.[4][5]
In the 2010s, Nox Cycles began developing electrified mountain bikes, introducing its first hybrid model with a Brose drive in 2015. From then on, the company focused primarily on e-mountain bikes,[6] and finally discontinued the production of all non-motorized bikes. At the beginning of 2017, Gaby and Carsten Sommer took over the Nox Cycles brand.[7] For this purpose, a new legal entity was established in Berlin.[8] Alongside the reorganization, a new production facility and headquarters location was established in Zell am Ziller.[9][10]
