Noy Vanneth (แแ แแแถแแแแแ; born 1964 in Kampuchea Krom in South Vietnam) is a Cambodian singer who has been performing and recording for more than twenty years. He has sung for numerous music production companies such as Rasmey Hang Meas, Chlangden, Angkorwat and others. His versatility has led him to perform genres from rock, pop, cha-cha, to Khmer genres such as ramvong, lam lao, saravan, and rom kbach. His work and legacy can be found as being part of the first new wave of post-Khmer Rouge popular singers alongside other Cambodian vocalists such as Touch Sunnix, Meng Keo Pichenda, Sous Mach and Him Sivorn. His musical approach can be described as being more traditional in instrumentation and style contrasted with the more modern works of Preap Sovath and other Cambodian artists currently producing work.
Noy Vanneth is still actively performing and singing on karaoke production companies while also making TV appearances on concert series such as CTN's Sunday Live[1], the Hang Meas HDTV network, judging and occasionally performing on Bayon TV's singing competition show Somneang Ek, and among others. He has also made several appearances in the U.S., touring several Khmer restaurants in cities such as Long Beach, Stockton[2], Chicago[3], and Atlanta[4] as well as in Canada and Australia[5].
