Nritya Creations

Nritya Creations is a dance group founded by Meena Basu Nag. The group's style is a blend of Indian classical dance types such as Bharat Natyam, Oddissi, Manipuri and Kathak with western contemporary forms such as jazz and ballet and other cultural dance forms.[1] The group placed first in the 2007 Naya Andaz Competition.

Awards[edit]

Nritya Creations has won trophies including best choreography, best dance, and best costume at notable dance competitions and shows in the USA including:

  • Naya Andaz Competitions
  • Federation of Indian Association Competitions
  • Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan Competitions
  • 2006 Nach Revolution Show
  • NABC Conferences( Baltimore, Atlantic City, New York City, Boston, Philadelphia Shows)
  • AT&T/Lucent/IBM Asian Heritage Month Programs

The group's performances have been aired on Sony TV, Zee TV, and TV Asia and have been recognized by members of the Bollywood community. Nritya Creations has also performed in the well known Bengali celebration, Durga Puja.
