Nuron Mukumi (born February 28, 1996) is a German-Uzbek classical pianist.
Early life and education
Nuron Mukumi was born in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, and began to play the piano at the age of six..[1] As a pupil of the Uspensky Music School in the class of Prof. Tamara Popovich he won the 1st prize at the San Jose International Piano Competition in California at the age of 7. In the same year he began his first conducting lessons from Vladimir Neymer and the next year at the age of 8, Nuron Mukumi made his conducting debut while playing the piano simultaneously, performing Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 20 in D Minor with the National Symphony Orchestra of Uzbekistan.[2]
At the age of 11, Nuron was offered a full scholarship at the Purcell School for Young Musicians where he stayed for 3 years. In 2010, at the age of 14, Nuron was accepted into the Meisterklasse Prof. Lev Natochenny and studied at the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst in Frankfurt am Main until 2015.[3]Nuron continued studying with Prof. Natochenny at the Kalaidos University of Applied Sciences in Zürich from 2015 till 2021. In addition, he studied in Paris with Marian Rybicki and received in spring 2021 the Diplôme Supérieur de Concertiste at the École Normale de Musique de Paris.[4]
Nuron Mukumi has given concerts among others in the following venues: Alte Oper in Frankfurt[5], Salle Cortot in Paris, Konzerthaus Bozen[6], Frankfurt Radio Hall, Konzerthaus Berlin, Laeiszhalle in Hamburg. Furthermore performed at several international festival such as the Rheingau Musik Festival[7], Oxford Piano Festival[8], Mozart Festival Würzburg[9], Mosel Musikfestival[10], Klavier-Festival Ruhr,[11] Weilburger Schlosskonzerte, Bad Homburger Schlosskonzerte and Biarritz Piano Festival[12].[13][14][15]
In the fall of 2022, Nuron Mukumi will be on tour with the National Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine performing the Piano Concerto No. 1 (Liszt) in Vaduz Liechtenstein[16], Visp Switzerland[17], Germany - Rosenheim, Kempten, Bietigheim-Bissingen[18][19][20] and finishing the tour in Linz at the Brucknerhaus in Austria[21]
Discography
Nuron Mukumi's début CD "Summit" was released in November 2018[22] (GENUIN classics) with works by Franz Liszt and Frédéric Chopin. "Summit" received the Pizzicato Supersonic Award[23] by the Pizzicato (magazine) and was nominated for the Opus Klassik 2019 Awards as well as for the International Classical Music Awards in 2020.[24]
His second Album - 18 Pieces for Piano op.72 by Tchaikovsky was released on October 7th 2022 with the Swiss label Prospero Classica[25]l.[26]
