OBM International
OBMI (OBM International)
OBMI is an architecture firm founded in Bermuda[1] in 1936 by the native Bermudian, Wilfred Onions and the French-Canadian, Valmer Bouchard. The firm was originally called Onions and Bouchard. Both Onions and Bouchard are credited with popularizing Bermuda-style architecture and attracted a wealthy clientele, which jump-started the firm to success during its early days, with iconic projects such as Bermuda City Hall. In the 1950s, John Edgar McCulloch joined the firm and the company changed its name to OBM. [2] [3]
In the early 1990s, OBM moved its headquarters to Miami, Florida, and opened a new office in Madrid to serve its growing international clientele.[4] [5] [6]
Presently, OBM is known as OBM International (OBMI), with projects around the world, including high-end hospitality, luxury residential, mixed-use, government, health, marine, and commercial, with a strong focus on sustainable design.[7] [8][9][10]
Some of OBMI’s projects include the Royal Mansour Hotel[11], The Wave Master Plan[12], Tazi Palace Hotel[13], Half Moon Bay Resort[14], The Cliff Villas, Hermitage Bay Resort, Pasito Blanco Resort[15], Pasito Lux Resort, Carisle Bay Resort, St. Regis Hotel Bermuda[16], Zibata Town Center[17], Rosewood Little Dix Bay, Scrub Island Resort, Sugar Ridge Resort, Capella Marigot Bay Resort, The Wave Residences, Longtail House, Villa Katsura, Ogier Commercial Offices, Dushanbe Mixed-Use Development, Ritz-Carlton Cayman, Ritz-Carlton Palm Hills, Celestial House, Bermuda City Hall, and Jungle Bay Luxury Eco Villas.
