OCTAVE Business School is an educational institution specialising in management education for graduates in and around areas in Nagpur, India. It was established in August 2010 in Nagpur, India. OCTAVE is a community-driven initiative of the BITS Pilani Alumni.[1] The name OCTAVE is derived from the fact that the founding team consists of eight BITS Pilani Alumni.[2] OCTAVE owns news columns called Business Management Vista in education supplements of local newspapers [3][4] – The Hitavada[5] & The Times of India.[6] The column is aimed at creating more awareness about management education in India. The School offers a 2-year full-time program and is affiliated to Sikkim Manipal University (SMU).
Program structure
Students at OCTAVE receive UGC approved MBA degrees and another degree in PGP (Post Graduate Program) in Business Leadership. The latter degree is a private one and is offered in autonomous mode. The MBA degree course is offered over four semesters.
Campus
OCTAVE's Nagpur campus is located on the outskirts of the MIHAN (Multi-modal International Cargo Hub and Airport at Nagpur) project at Rui, Nagpur, behind Sun N Sand Hotel, and is spread over 1.4 acres.
Industry partnerships (OBAG)
With a view to helping the SME sector in the Nagpur region and addressing their business challenges, OCTAVE Business School has started an initiative called OBAG (OCTAVE Business Advisory Groups).[7] Under OBAG, three to five OCTAVE students closely work with a CEO of a local SME along with a senior OCTAVE faculty member to understand and solve their business challenges. Each OBAG project runs for a duration of four months. Typical OBAG projects include market research, online and offline marketing strategies, employee productivity studies, and financial analysis for SME operations.
