OPTP (short for One Potato Two Potato) is a Pakistani fast food restaurant chain headquartered in Karachi, Sindh, Pakistan which specializes in Belgian fries.[6] [7] [8] It currently has 64 locations in the country and is expanding. [9] [10] [11] [12] [13]

History[edit]

OPTP started out as a small family-owned business in Karachi that originally specialized in Belgian fries by brothers Yahya Khalid and Haris Khalid.[14] Since then, it has expanded to other parts of the country. [15] [16] [17]

Awards and Nominations[edit]

OPTP was nominated in the category Best Burger House of the Year at the All Pakistan Restaurant Association (APRA) Awards in Karachi.[35] [36] [37]

Criticism and Controversies[edit]

In 2015, the OPTP kiosk outside the Mall of Lahore was sealed due to the continued use of low quality potatoes despite a verbal warning by the Punjab Food Authority.[38] [39]

In 2017, OPTP's social media team was criticized for how they responded to the fast food chain's criticism from customers.[40]

In 2020, OPTP outlets in DHA, Bahadurabad and Boat Basin areas of Karachi were sealed over Covid 19 SOP Violations.[41] [42] [43]
