Oak Engage is a Newcastle-based intranet software company that specialises in creating cloud-based software for businesses to use to enhance employee engagement, store company documentation and distribute internal company news.[1]
History
Previously known as Orchidsoft,[2] the company was established in 1993 with the intent of developing and selling intranet solutions.[3] In 2016, Orchidsoft became Oak Intranet, a cloud-based Intranet platform.[4] In January 2020, Oak Intranet secured £2.1m of funding [5] the investment was led by Maven Capital Partners following a restructure of their leadership team in July 2019, led by CEO Will Murray.[6] Now known as Oak Engage,[7] their customers include brands such as Aldi,[8] Five Guys,[9] and Halfords.[10]
In 2019, Oak Engage was recognised as one of the most exciting technology companies in the North East Tech 50 by BusinessCloud.[11] Also in 2019, Oak Engage was ranked in the Chronicle's best 50 places to work in the North East.[12]
