Early Life[edit]
Butch was born in the suburbs of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on September 13th, 1995. He attended Germantown Academy during his middle and high school years, and was also involved in the School of Rock program. Both of these environments allowed him to craft his skills as a drummer and musician. Fueled by his father's diagnosis with Hodgkin's lymphoma during his 7th grade years, Butch began producing his own music as a way to express his emotions.
Butch's stage name is derived from his belief that social stereotyping should be eliminated.
Musical Style[edit]
Butch attributes his production technique to painting, as he envisions layers of sounds combining to create a picture or story.
Butch is a multi-instrumentalist, so he most often writes his music from scratch. He favors to write songs that reflect personal events, and likes his projects to tell stories. He also will sometimes sample obscure jazz and funk records, and will draw influence from world music to create modern sounding beats.
