Publishing[edit]
“Y colorín colorado este cuento aún no se ha acabado” (Not the End)
“Y colorín colorado este cuento aún no se ha acabado – La vida no se acaba… hasta que se acaba (Not the End[2] – Life isn’t Over Until It’s Over) was first published in 2001, it tells the story of Odái, a princess who lives locked in the tower of a castle, guarded by the Black Dragon of Fear. She was there undecisive, waiting for a signal that will lead her to find a new direction in her life. But seeing that it does not arrive, she decides to run away from the writer's narration and undertakes her own personal adventure trying to find her happiness.[3][4]
“And colorín colorado este cuento aún no se ha acabado” (Not the End) describes the fears that paralyze people, the desire to be free and the importance of knowing each other. It is a story that invites readers to think over their own past to understand who they are and where they come from.
“¿Nos tomamos un café?” (Shall we drink a cup of coffee?)
The book was published in December 2008, it compiles essays, and poems that Odin Dupeyron has written throughout his life. They are close texts that make the reader meditate on their own experiences.[5]
“En tu única vida, ¿de qué no te quieres perder?” (If this is my only life... What wouldn't I miss out?)
This book was published in March 2014, it invites us to think about life; to discover alternatives of thoughts, emotions, and activities. It gives us an option of what to do with the rest of our life, through questions that incite us to think about the meaning of happiness, regardless of the expectations of one's family, religion, teachers, friends or community.
“Esto sé” (This is what I know)
“Esto sé” (This is what I know)[6] is a battle against the excess of magical thinking... It is a comedy that talks about how pain, fear and social pressure may affect success, depending on how such pain, fear or social pressure, are handled.
Odin shares his experiences -sometimes sarcastic- and invites to improve self-knowledge in order to make more assertive decisions without carrying the so-called imposed guilt.
Theatre[edit]
Lucas
“Lucas, ¿qué sabemos del amor?” (Lucas, what do we know about love?) is a comedy that talks about love, commitment, and doing what is due and facing the unexpected, while exposing the injustices of a world full of imposed and learned roles.
In 1994, he wrote this staging, which has been produced three times: in 1995 with the performances of Sergio Catalán, Adriana Nieto, Maricarmen Vela and Luis Couturier; in 2005, produced by Jorge Ortiz de Pinedo, with the performances of Mauricio Barcelata, Erika Blenher, Joana Brito and Luis Couturier; in the last production in the year of 2017, it was presented at the National Auditorium with the special performance of Mauricio Ochmann, Luis Couturier and Mayra Rojas. The current cast includes Lourdes Gazza in the role of the social worker, Erik Diaz as David and Nando Estevané as the Lord.
“¡A vivir!” (Let's live!)
It is a monologue written, acted and directed by Odin Dupeyron. In this play, he invites the audience to rediscover life and begin to live it for real; it is a work that shows that the real problem of life is not that it's over, but enjoying it too late.[7]
From this monologue comes the idea of making “¡A vivir! Bajo el microscopio” (Let's Live! Unraveled) in 2020, via streaming a documentary that explains the process of writing and the arguments to create it.[8][9]
“Veintidós Veintidós” (Twenty-two, Twenty-two)
“Veintidós Veintidós” (todos tenemos una hora)[10] was presented for the first time on December 3, 2010. The story is about two characters who manage to confront the audience with death, and life at the same time. It portrays the existential problems of the human being.[11]
In addition, two adaptations were made for streaming, one as a dramatized reading and the other as an oral representation.
“#Recalculando” (#Recalculating)
This show was presented for the first time on July 29, 2019 at the Telcel Theater, however, it had to be presented via streaming due to COVID-19 pandemic.
