The Office of the Former President is the name that Donald Trump as a private citizen uses to refer to his private office after he left office as president of the United States. The organization is located in Palm Beach, Florida. It was opened on January 25, 2021.[1] Through the Former Presidents Act, former presidents are eligible for funding for an office after they leave office.[2]
On January 25, journalists received a press release that the office had been set up. Snopes wrote an article that the communication was, in fact, legitimate and the office was being created.[3]
A statement from the office read, "The office will be responsible for managing President Trump's correspondence, public statements, appearances and official activities to advance the interests of the United States and to carry on the agenda of the Trump administration through advocacy, organizing and public activism."[4][5]
