Early life
Career
2008–2016 Sound Engineer/ Producer
During A-Levels, Ol engineered for bands within his scene and live sound at different gigs.
After completing A-Levels, Ol saved up money for a year working and playing in bands and freelance engineering projects before moving to L.A. in 2009. [1]
Whilst living in L.A., Ol graduated with honors from Los Angeles Recording School completing a sound engineer diploma and receiving certification in Pro Tools at 210M and 210P operator level. [2]
2016–Present Holy Rock Studios
Ol purchased an old Methodist Church in Nottinghamshire in 2016 after spending 2 years looking for a suitable property to convert into a recording studio.
The Methodist church had been converted into a Royal British Legion Club at the time of purchase, and Ol spent the next 2 years stripping the pub out of the building until it became a shell and slowly converting it into a residential recording studio and a flat to live in. [3]
The studio was christened Holy Rock Studios and version 1 of the studio included a 36 channel Audient custom console. The residential studio has an apartment able to house 10 members of a band to live in whilst their music is worked on.
Holy Rock Studios was closed between fall 2019 and summer of 2021 whilst the band Ol plays guitar for, Amen, were completing their albums that Ol was co-producing alongside Casey Chaos and Ross Robinson in addition to engineering.
In 2023 the studio underwent several upgrades and now houses a Solid State Logic 32 channel Origin console. [4]
2008–Present Amen
In 2008 whilst living in L.A., Ol met up with his friend Casey Chaos, and he started engineering for Casey in studios around L.A. and home studios, tracking guitars and vocals for an upcoming Amen release. Initially acting just as a sound engineer in 2008, Ol retained this position as Casey's sound engineer for Amen and a few of Casey's other projects until 2025.
2008–Present Songwriter
Ol was contracted to write, perform, record, and mix 30 "punk" short songs for Sony Music's move into the NFT world, with music royalty ownership as part of the appeal for Sony's "Banddoid's" project. [5]
