Olaf Bender
Olaf Bender (a.k.a. Byetone) (* 1968 in Karl-Marx-Stadt, now: Chemnitz) is a multimedia artist, graphic designer and musician from Chemnitz. He runs the German artistic platform Raster-Media and the associated music label Raster. Additionally, he performs solo under the pseudonym Byetone.[1][2]
Early Life + Education
Olaf Bender was born in 1968 in Karl Marx Stadt.
Artworks
Olaf Bender's experimental work started with the medium film in the 1980s. In the meantime he came into contact with East German underground band AG Geige and became a permanent member of it in 1988. Together with Frank Bretschneider he founded in 1996 the record label Rastermusic, which was renamed raster-noton in 1999 (in connection with the release of the »20 minutes to 2000« series). In 2017, raster-noton was renamed raster-media again.
