through numerous transitions and in 1905 became Old National Bank & Trust Company.[1] The Old National Bank & Trust Co. was originally headquartered at 1 East Main St. (Now 1 East Michigan Avenue). The bank moved in 1915 from 1 East Main St on "Bank Corners" to 29-31 West Main St. Another bank called Merchants Savings Bank at 23 West Main St. In 1929, the two banks merged creating the Old-Merchants National Bank and Trust Company, and constructing a new building in 1931. The bank institution only lasted for 4 years until June 13 of 1933, when the bank closed partly due to the Great Depression. In June of 1935 the bank was restructured as Security National Bank, which later became SNB Bank & Trust in 1980 and closed permanently around 1982.
