Oleg A. Mukhanov

Oleg A. Mukhanov is the CTO, co-CEO, and co-founder at Seeqc, Inc.[1] Mukhanov received a Ph.D. in physics from Moscow State University and an M.S. in electrical engineering from Moscow Engineering Physics Institute. Mukhanov is the co-inventor of SFQ digital technology, has authored and co-authored over 200 scientific papers and holds 24 patents.[2]

Early Life and Education[edit]

Oleg Mukhanov received his bachelor’s degree at the National Research Nuclear University.[3]

He received an M.S. in electrical engineering from Moscow Engineering Physics Institute in 1983.[4]

Mukhanov earned his Ph.D. in physics from Moscow State University in 1988.[5]

HYPRES[edit]

Chief Technical Officer—Mukhanov joined HYPRES in 1991 to initiate the development of Rapid Single Flux Quantum (RSFQ) superconductor circuit technology.[4]

Seeqc[edit]

Chief Technical Officer, co-CEO and co-Founder—Seeqc is a semiconductor company making quantum computing useful, commercially and at scale. It is developing the first digital quantum computing platform for global businesses.[6][7]

Seeqc closed its seed funding in April of 2020, with $5 million coming from a strategic partnership with Merck.[8]

Seeqc closed its series A funding round in September of 2020, with $22.4 million led by EQT Ventures.[7]

Awards and Recognition[edit]

Mukhanov was appointed as an IEEE Fellow in 2012 for leadership in research and development of superconducting digital electronics.[9]

Mukhanov was the recipient of The IEEE Award for Continuing and Significant Contributions in the Field of Small Scale Applied Superconductivity in 2015.[10]

IEEE Council on Superconductivity (CSC) Outstanding Service Recognition for service as an editor of Special Issues of IEEE Transactions on Applied Superconductivity.[11]
