Oleg Stepanov (Russian: Олег Степанов; 1961) is an authority on mind sports.[citation needed] He has particular expertise in the board games Pente, Renju, Shogi and Othello (Reversi), and is widely regarded as the leading authority on mental calculation and its history.[citation needed] Stepanov was a chairman of the Qualifying Commission of the Renju International Federation from 2001[1] until 2011.[2]
An accomplished magician,[citation needed] Stepanov has written many articles about the methods and history of performance magic.[citation needed]
Stepanov is perhaps best known in his native Russia as a puzzle compiler, providing brainteasers to daily newspapers, puzzle magazines and TV quiz shows.[citation needed]
