Oleg Teptsov (Олег Павлович Тепцов)
Oleg Pavlovich Teptsov (born 5 October 1954) is a Soviet and Russian film director, screenwriter, producer, and musician.
Biography
- Teptsov was born on 5 October 1954 in Leningrad, RSFSR, USSR (now Saint Petersburg, Russia).
- He studied at the Leningrad State Conservatory (named after Rimsky-Korsakov), graduating in 1979 as an oboist under teacher K. Nikonchuk (К. Никончук).
- In 1984, he graduated from the directing department of the Higher Courses for Scriptwriters and Directors (ВКСР), in the workshop of Emil Lotianu (Э. В. Лотяну).
- His first major recognition came with his film Gospodin oformitel (Мистер дизайнер / Mister Designer), which was in part a reworking of his diploma project.
- In 1999, he became head of the St. Petersburg public cultural fund.
Awards and Recognition
- In 1987, Teptsov won a directing prize at a competition in Almaty, Kazakhstan, for Gospodin oformitel.[1]
- In 1990, Posvyashchyonnyy was screened in the Forum section at the Berlin International Film Festival.[2]
