Olga Pohankova (1979, Bratislava) is a Slovak documentary and experimental filmmaker, cinematographer, and visual artist[1]. She studied cinematography and film editing at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna, Austria. She is particularly known for her feature documentary The Children of the Noon[2][3][4], awarded with the Best Documentary Award at the London Independent Film Awards 2017[5]. The short version of the documentary film was broadcast by Rai 3 on 31 August 2017 within the Doc3 format[6]. In 2013, with Diego Fiori, she co-founded Philosophische GEBILDE – Gesellschaft für die Bilddekonditionierung, an artistic association which focuses on the production of art house films[7]. Olga Pohankova is a member of the Austrian Association of Cinematographers[8].
