Ollie Bye
Ollie Bye (born 1998) is British cartographer and illustrator who makes animated historical mapping videos on YouTube.
Career[edit]
Bye started making maps on his computer as a hobby. He soon learnt how to use maps in a frame by frame format, putting several together to form an animated mapping video. In 2016 he published the video The History of the World: Every Year.[1][2][3]
He later developed an interest in Indian history and has since published multiple videos on the subject.[4] He has made illustrations on a wide range of subjects from the history of nations to the spread of ideas and growth of populations.[5][6] His videos on Europe and elsewhere have been used as a teaching source on several occasions.[7]
Ollie Bye has 283,000 subscribers on YouTube and is the second most subscribed videomapper, behind EmperorTigerstar.[citation needed] His cumulative views exceed 77 million.
