Oloko was a massively multiplayer online virtual world game that ran from 2009 to 2014. It was created by Young Internet GmbH (later known as Goodbeans GmbH). Players could create an animal character of their choice, being able to select between rabbits, cats, dogs and horses, and learn different professions such as gardening and cooking through the world's quest system and NPCs.

The game was designed for children between the ages of 6 and 12,[1] and featured a trading/selling system, teaching children about trading and negotiating their items on an open market.[2] Players could also choose a group to join, the Eka, Deika or Zurak. Weekly competitions were held where the winners would receive rare prizes.

It featured a "Single SignOn" feature which allowed users to log in using their Panfu account, a separate virtual world also created by Goodbeans.[2]

History

Oloko was first available in a beta testing phase in Germany from November 19, 2009.[3] The game was first localized and introduced in English, Norwegian and Swedish on June 15, 2011.[4]

Following a shift from online games to mobile games,[5] the company behind Oloko declared that it would get no more updates[6] and was later shut down on May 31, 2014.[7]
