Olujimi "Olu" Brown (born August 10, 1977) is an American pastor, author, leadership coach, and businessman. He is the founder and former lead pastor of Impact Church in East Point, Georgia, and the founder of Culverhouse LLC, a leadership consulting and coaching firm. In 2024, Brown announced his candidacy for the Democratic nomination in the 2026 Georgia gubernatorial election.
Early life and career
Brown was born in Texas in 1977. He moved to Georgia to attend the Interdenominational Theological Center in Atlanta, where he completed his theological training. Following seminary, he served as an associate pastor at Cascade United Methodist Church in Atlanta.[1]
In 2007, Brown founded Impact Church, which first held services at Brown Middle School in Atlanta’s West End community.[2] The church later relocated to East Point, Georgia, where it transformed a blighted area into a multi-million-dollar community hub. Under Brown’s leadership, Impact grew to become one of the largest United Methodist congregations in Georgia.[3]
After stepping down from pastoral ministry, he established Culverhouse LLC, a leadership coaching and consulting firm.[4]

2026 Georgia gubernatorial campaign
On August 29, 2024, Brown announced his campaign for Governor of Georgia as a Democrat.[11] His campaign platform emphasizes affordable living, living wages, education reform, and expanded healthcare access.[12]
Brown has conducted listening tours across the state and highlighted themes of community engagement. His policy vision includes:[13]
- Healthcare – building a universal healthcare system to expand access and reduce costs.
- Education – transforming Georgia’s public education system, building a student-centered funding model, modernized testing and stronger support for teachers.
- Economy – increasing the state surplus by investing in diverse businesses and supporting working families.
- Good governance – building a responsive government powered by the people and rooted in transparency and accountability.
