History[edit]
It was established in 1985 under the military govertnment, and was commissioned on September 6, 1985 by a Senior High Chief of Lagos, Chief S. Babatunde Ajasa Oluwa (The Oluwa of Apapa and Lagos), since then the school has been contributing meaningfully to the growth of Lagos and Nigeria.[2]
Administrative Partitioning[edit]
On January 6, 2003 the school was divided into two, a Junior Academy (Oluwa Memorial Junior Secondary School), and a Senior Academy (Oluwa Memorial Senior Secondary School) due to administrative partitioning of secondary schools in Lagos State to better define the 6-3-3-4 Education System in Nigeria.[3]
Ever since then, both schools have been operating individually,[4] with different faculty members and principals but still co-exist on the same campus.
