The Olympus VG-170 is a low-budget compact digital camera, with up to 5x optical zoom and 14 megapixels. It was launched by Olympus in February 2012. Its intended to be a digital camera able to just "point and shoot", for simple photographs with less know-how, so it has automatic mode.[1]
It's avaiable in black, red, or white. Supports SD cards, and it's powered by a Li-ion Battery, with 3.7V, and 925mAh. It features a 3-inch digital TFT LCD screen. The incorporated flash illuminates in a distance up to 15 meters.[1][3]
It has core features such as: Auto-Flash, Long Flash (which enables Auto ISO and decreases resolution to 5 megapixels automaticly), macro and super macro mode, anti-red eye, white balance adjustment, ISO adjustment, exposure adjustment, self-timer (2 or 12 seconds), sequential shots, High-speed shots (which decreases resolution to 3 megapixels automaticly), DIS mode, Beauty effects, magic filters, and scene adaption.[4] It allows also to create 3D-effect images, panoramic images, and can record with videos up to 720p HD resolution.[2]
The box includes the digital camera, a CD with software for the computer, a pair of cardboard 3D glasses (for the 3D images), LI-50B Lithium Ion Battery, AC Adapter (charger for battery), USB cable (to connect to the charger or to the computer), AV cable, and the instructions manual.[4]
In the Super-Macro mode, the camera can only focus in an object that is no closer than 7 centimeters to the camera lens. [1]
