While at school, Prince would develop the name "Jahmez", a stressed version of his actual name, James. Later he would add the "Only" moniker, seeing as he was the first "Only" name he's seen.

Shortly into his college career, Prince's mother Lavette Prince passed away. After the passing of his mother in 2018, Prince would dropout of Kutztown and pursue music full-time. Prince would perform shows at local theaters and schools trying to gain visibility[1]. Following his departure from school and after performing at a multiple smaller venues and producing records for hometown locals[2], Prince found himself a regular at the Volume Cafe opening for Mir Fontane and headlining the Red Bull sponsored, "Down the Highway Meets Up the Highway" and "Rise to Reign" events.

Following the success of Fxck Rules, OnlyJahmez would release a second project College Emotions on [SoundCloud]] in the same year. Following the Corona Virus outbreak of 2020, OnlyJahmez, along with much of the world, put a pause on the music industry for a short period.
