History
The company was founded in 2003 by Voytek (Wojciech) Opalski and Tara Dawn. [1] The name Opal Enterprises is derived from co-founder Voytek’s last name, Opalski. Voytek immigrated from Poland and worked for general contractors in the commercial market before Opal's foundation. [2] The company began working from a home office. In 2012, Opal opened a 10,000 square foot showroom and warehouse in Naperville, Illinois, which is still their headquarters today. [3] At this time, Opal had grown to the level of being listed in Remodeling Magazine as one of the Big 50 remodelers in the East North Central region. [3] The company expanded to a second location in Deerfield, Illinois in 2017. [4]
