Ezra Otieno Opande (born October 26, 1996) is a Kenyan Tech entrepreneur, a mobile apps and web developer. He is known for founding Apen Softwares and serves as its chairman, chief executive officer, and controlling shareholder.
He's also known for developing the South Eastern Kenya University Mobile Application (SEKU Mobile App)
Born in Sindo, Homabay County, Nyanza, Ezra attended South Eastern Kenya University, where he studied BSc Electronics and developed the SEKU Mobile App just when he was in his third year of study in 2018.
Since then, he's worked on several programming projects both personal and for the university.
Early life
Ezra Opande was born on October 26, 1996 in Sindo, Homabay County.
His parents are Opande Kalloice and Penina Opande. He and his sister, Irene Opande, were brought up in Sindo, a small village within Suba South.
At Tonga Boys' High School, Ezra excelled in classes and won prizes in mathematics, geography and physics. In his youth, he also attended Kisiambi Primary School

Early years
Ezra began using computers and writing software in High School. His teachers taught him BASIC Programming in 2013. Ezra took an online graduate course in the subject at Emobilis
Someone might wonder how he, Ezra, managed to develop a mobile application despite the fact that he was not an IT or Computer science student. Well, when asked about it he said, "I got into software development because technology is the future. My passion for technology was burning inside me and just like fate, it was unavoidable. It was a long time calling." "I got into it so that I could make ends meet. In my early years of university, I was unable to pay full fees and I was forced to defer my studies thrice and since then I knew I had to do something about it and the only way I could do so was by getting into technology" he added
Ezra's high-school years, he participated in science and engineering fair, a program tailored to nurture young high school students who are passionate about innovation and technology.
