From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

OpenSingularity Pte. Ltd. (Chinese: 一心一意; pingyin: Yīxīnyīyì) is a Singapore multinational semiconductor, blockchain, artificial intelligence, internet of things, and technology conglomerate that provides business-to-business as well as consumer-to-consumer offerings via providing license-free cores and platforms for distributed ledger technology.

Recently, the company launched the Project Skynet, a mission to interconnect Internet of Things devices with a blockchain core chip based on RISC-V and a corresponding blockchain network according to its website.[1]

The company affiliates itself with RISC-V, an open-source instruction set architecture for Central Processing Units. [2] In contrast to most ISAs, the RISC-V ISA can be freely used for any purpose, permitting anyone to design, manufacture and sell RISC-V chips and software. While not the first open architecture ISA, it is significant because it is designed to be useful in a wide range of devices, namely for Internet of Things.

With the architecture, OpenSingularity claims to have developed the first RISC-V Blockchain Chip and has taken onboard multiple design engineers and executives from Qualcomm Incorporated to develop processors for three integer ISAs: RV32I, RV64I, and RV128I for 32-bit, 64-bit, and 128-bit.[3] For the chip, OpenSingularity has developed the Skynet Open Network , an IoT network that uses an infinite-chain architecture to enable devices to exchange value in milliseconds, deploy algorithms across the network, and train off of vital private data. [4]

Companies and Affiliated Entities[edit]

OpenSingularity Foundation Ltd.[edit]

The OpenSingularity Foundation Ltd. is a Singapore-based non-profit arm of the OpenSingularity. It was founded by University of California, Berkeley Researcher, Alexander Shi[5], who is known for his work in image-based deep learning.[6] Along with him is the former Executive Director of Samsung, Jae W. Jung[7] and the former Vice President of Qualcomm, Carl Shi. [8][9] The aim of the foundation is to enable the intelligent machine-to-machine economy by providing an open-source chip and a blockchain network.[10]

OpenSingularity Pte. Ltd.[edit]

OpenSingularity Pte. Ltd. is a blockchain semiconductor company that operates in Singapore. OpenSingularity Pte. Ltd. is responsible for the development of Skynet Open Network[11], a fourth generational blockchain that links Internet of Things devices to blockchain networks.

OpenSingularity Blockchain[edit]

The Skynet Open Network Blockchain is OpenSingularity's blockchain technology platform that includes a parent chain and with up to an infinite number of side chains. The network supports the creation of decentralized applications, micropayments, Proof-of-Stake blockchains, and distributed machine learning. It is planned to be integrated within OpenSingularity's processor cores.[12]

OpenSingularity RISC-V Blockchain Core[edit]

OpenSingularity's RISC-V Core, known as the Skynet Core, is a multipurpose chip that implements an SoC optimized for blockchain and artificial intelligence applications. The core contains an on-chip SHA-256 hash accelerator, neural processing unit, and a hardware wallet.[13]
