OpenTrackIO

OpenTrackIO[1] is an open standard for interconnectivity of devices in On-set virtual production and was published in 2025 by SMPTE Rapid Industry Solutions (RIS)[2]. It is intended to improve interoperability in On-set virtual production by replacing the manufacturer-specific metadata protocols required in virtual production, such as camera tracking communications.
OpenTrackIO[1] publishes a JSON Schema that provides a machine-readable specification and is an example of Metadata.
