Attack

In a press release, the HPG said that on 12 January 2024, HPG units launched the Martyr Helmet Dêraluk Revolutionary Operation against Turkish positions in the Girê Amediyê Resistance Area within the Zap region.[4] Shortly after, on 13 January, the HPG said that more Turkish soldiers were targeted and 1 Turkish position was hit. This attack was carried out by YJA-STAR.[5] After the attacks, the PKK published a seventy-minute video on their social platforms of the operation carried out in the Zap Area. [6] It was claimed by the HPG that these clashes were a response to "Increased Turkish occupation".[7]
