NJSIC 'Oranta' (National Joint-Stock Insurance Company 'Oranta') is a nationwide insurance firm in Ukraine. It was established as the successor to 'Ukrainian state insurance commercial organization', which was founded on November 25, 1921.[1] [2]
In 1993, 'Ukrainian state insurance commercial organization' underwent a transformation into a Public Joint-Stock Company known as the National Joint-Stock Insurance Company 'Oranta', with the State Property Fund of Ukraine as its founder. [3] In 2007, the State Property Fund of Ukraine sold the remaining shares, previously held in state ownership, to a private investor.
Since 1994, NAJSIC 'Oranta' has been a full member of the Motor (Transport) Insurance Bureau of Ukraine (MTIBU), and since 2003, it has been a member of the Nuclear Insurance Pool. In 2007, the company was privatized, which helped improve its asset structure and solvency.[4] In September 2008, 'Oranta' became one of the founding members of the Ukrainian Federation of Insurers (UFI), which brought together 14 classical insurance companies.
In December 2008, the company signed the United Nations Global Compact, declaring its commitment to the principles of corporate social responsibility. [5] [6] NASC 'Oranta' collaborates with Ukrainian and international organizations in the field of corporate social responsibility and actively participates in committees and working groups of the American Chamber of Commerce and the European Business Association.
