Order 777

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

Order 777 (Latin: Commilitones de Ordo DCCLXXVII, "Comrades of Order 777"), also stylized as The Order 777, is a contemporary self-styled order, charitable organization, and counterjihadi group inspired by medieval military orders of knighthood, especially the Knights Templar, of which the Order states it is a "spiritual descendant". The Order is dedicated primarily to defending Christians from persecution by radical Islamist regimes and terrorist networks, as well as to halt or reverse the Islamisation of otherwise secular or Christian nations. The Order also engages in missionary activity, philanthropy, and ecumenism.

The Order ostensibly takes its name from the number 777 as it is significant in a Judeo-Christian context, opposed to and greater than the number of the beast.

The Order gained attention in the wake of the 2011 Norway attacks, when several British periodicals reported that the perpetrator of the attacks—Anders Behring Breivik—had (admittedly tenuous) connections with the Order's founder and commandant Nick W. Greger, as well as prominent Order member Paul "Lionheart" Ray (also a known member of the English Defense League), or was at least partly motivated by the Order's ideology.

The Order is inter-denominational and accepts members so long as they are baptized Christians willing to profess their faith in Jesus Christ.

The Order, in its official resolutions, supports and attempts to consolidate a variety of efforts, organizations, and communities, many deemed part of a larger "Christian resistance" movement. These include, but are not limited to: The continued presence of Messianic Jews in the Levant, supporting Laurent Nkunda and the CNDP as "Christian freedom fighters" in Congo, the recognition of Samir Geagea as a local leader of Christian defense in Lebanon, supporting the House of Hohenzollern, condemning the Knights of Malta for knighting Nelson Mandela, etc.

The Order is recognized by Ordo Supremus Militaris Templi Hierosolymitani (OSMTH) and was founded with the blessing of Ugandan bishop Benjamin Ojwang in 2007.

The Order claims it is a para-intelligence agency, and maintains international connections. It also claims to maintain militia-like "special operation units", some of whom established a micronation in the Savage Islands in 2013.
