Dr. Oren Fuerst (Born June 8, 1968) is an entrepreneur, inventor, investor and lecturer, focusing on biomedical initiatives..[1] Dr. Fuerst is the co-founder of multiple medical technology and digital health companies and is a former faculty member at Columbia Business School and Yale School of Management. He is the inventor of more than 20 patents.[2] Among his most notable inventions, Dr. Fuerst co-invented Prepex, an award-winning medical device utilized by many countries in Africa in the context of HIV prevention, and Serenita, an award-winning Stress reduction software tool. He is considered one of the most active digital health investors in Israel[3] and one of the top social investors in the "StartupNation".[4]
Education and Academic Background
Dr. Fuerst received his Ph.D. from Columbia Business School. He holds a dual bachelor's degree from Tel Aviv University (Dual Magna Cum Laude) in Accounting and Economics. Dr. Fuerst was the initiator and co-Director of the Technology Strategy and Valuation Executive Program at Columbia Business Schooll, and served as a faculty member at Yale University School of Management and Yale International Center for Finance. He had published multiple academic papers and popular press articles in newspapers such as the Financial Times and published multiple books with publishers including From Concept to Wall Street by Prentice Hall-Financial Times. He has been involved in a pioneering online trainings at Columbia University in the early 2000s

Dr. Fuerst is also involved in numerous healthcare related not for profit organizations, including serving on the boards of the American Friends of Sheba Medical Center[5] and Imagine Global. He is a frequent invited speaker in many conferences including Health2.0 and the Lake Nona Institute Impact Forum[6]
Entrepreneurial Activities
In 2002 he founded Global Digital Health (GDH) which was among the first companies in the world to utilized mobile devices in the health sector. The company collaborated with Becton Dickinson in creating a patented mobile IT immunization system, which was to serve as the backbone for mass biodefence immunization campaigns in 2003[7] [8][9] Dr. Fuerst further led GDH to additional opportunities, among them serving a fully paperless data collection in one of the world's largest ever clinical trials, sponsored by the Gates Foundation in Mali in 2005[10] In 2008 He co-founded Tevel, a global network of investors focused on Israeli-related technology companies[11] Tevel has been active in investing in multiple Israeli startups over the years[12] In 2009, Fuerst co-invented the first non surgical circumcision device[13] and later co-founded and became Chairman of Circ Medtech, a double bottom line medical device company commercializing the invention, which plays an instrumental role in HIV prevention.[14]. The Product PrePex, is the first non Surgical circumcision device approved by both the FDA and CE, and recognized by the WHO.[15] [16] The device was cited by Bill Gates in its Annual letter[17]. The device was tested in studies funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and the US Government (PEPFAR) in target sub-Saharan African countries, and also won multiple international awards. The Executive Director of UNAIDS, Michel Sidibe, mentioned PrePex as a revolution in the acceleration of HIV prevention, after visiting the Nyamata hospital in Rwanda, a site selected for a safety study of the circumcision device[18] Fuerst’s extensive experience in the investment and social entrepreneurial sectors helped attract impact investors such as Acumen, a nonprofit global venture fund[19] and later PIC, an impact investment company founded by Ronald Lauder and Richard Parsons [20]
In 2011 he invented, co founded and became the CEO and Chairman of Dario Health (NASDAQ:DRIO), formerly known as LabStyle Innovation, a diabetes management company (creator of the Dario medical device) which had obtained CE and FDA marks for its revolutionary smart phone driven glucose meter.[21][22] The device was covered extensively in the media among others on the Dr. Oz show.[23] The company is known for being among the companies with the fastest path from concept to public listing, leveraging the then newly enacted JOBS Act. In 2016 the company was up-listed to NASDAQ [24]
Following his personal experience as a caregiver of his mother that was diagnosed and later died from cancer, In 2012 he co founded (with Tal Givoly and Professor Steven Kaplan) and became Chairman of Medivizor, a revolutionary personalized health information company.[25] [26] Medivizor won multiple international awards. Medivizor leverages a patent pending technology by Dr. Fuerst and Givoly that provides personalized health information to patients diagnosed with chronic and severe illnesses.[27] [28] [29]
In 2013 he founded and became Chairman of Eco-Fusion, a digital medicines company focused on stress and diabetes management. Based on a patented technology he co-invented, Eco Fusion developed a stress measurement tool and relief called Serenita, formerly known as Mentally that won international awards including Doctors2.0.[30] The product and Dr. Fuerst were extensively covered by the media including being named as one of 4 tools to be thankful for by Forbes.[31] [32] [33] [34][35] The invention was also the subject of multiple clinical studies, including the first study to show an impact of an App on reducing blood glucose level with Type II Diabetes.[36] In 2015, Eco Fusion joined the Startup Health network of companies.[37]
