Original Deutschmacher
The Original Deutschmacher (formerly called „Radio Bremen 4 singt deutsch“) now consists of the duo Arnd Zeigler („Arnie“) and Berthold Brunsen („Bert“). They also appear as "Arnie and Bert". It is a project which, since the beginning of the 1990s, initially exaggerated and literally translated English texts into German, deliberately distorting the meaning, but later also interpreted more freely and finally wrote fan songs for SV Werder Bremen („Lebenslang grün-weiß“, „Das W auf dem Trikot“). First they were only hearable on Radio Bremen, later then almost nationwide. At times they had regular TV appearances on N3 (in the "Swutsch" series) and in the "100 Grad" series (Deutsche Welle Fernsehen, Berlin). Die Original Deutschmacher have now released 11 CDs and have been involved in several other CDs.
History
Since 1991 - initially only on Radio Bremen 4 - English-language songs have been consistently and literally translated into German. At first other moderators were also involved, in the end this was limited to Arnd Zeigler and Berthold Brunsen.
In 1993/1994 the Original Deutschmacher could be heard on the radio stations RB4, hr3, WDR 1 and ORB. From 1993 the duo began performing on stage. From March 1995 the duo called themselves "Original Deutschmacher". On September 1, 1995, the first CD was released - still together with the radio comedy show "Nullnummer". In Bremen alone, 12,000 CDs of this CD were sold in a department store branch.
On May 20, 1996, the duo's first completely independent CD was released, “Endlich verständlich”. In December 1996 the single "Weihnachtsmann ist in dem Haus" was released, a decoupling from the sampler "Comedy Christmas" published by Sat.1. Readers of the "Bild" newspaper voted the duo among the "Bremer des Jahres 1996". On September 6, 1997, the CD “Unendlich Verständlich!” was released.
On November 18, 1997 in Bremen's Weserstadion, first in the Ostkurvensaal, then in the Ostkurve of the Weserstadion in front of over 20,000 Werder fans, the song "Das W auf dem Trikot" was presented. On November 30, 1997 the last broadcast of the "Nullnummer" with the Original Deutschmacher took place. In 1998 "Das W auf dem Trikot" became the official stadium anthem in the Weserstadion. After SV Werder won the DFB Cup in 1999, a Shape-CD was released, „Unsere Herzen schlagen grün-weiß“.
In 2000 the CD "Das W auf dem Trikot" was released. In January 2003, a remix by Deutschmacher of the Aílton-Song appeared on the CD "Kult-Fußball Royal" published by Arnd Zeigler. From March 7, 2004, the “Nullnummer” was on the air again for 10 weeks, songs by the duo were played again, the first being “Geschlechtsbombe”. On April 1st, 2004 the new CD of the "Nullnummer", "Säue vor die Perlen" with three songs by Original Deutschmacher was released. When Werder Bremen won 3-1 against FC Bayern Munich on May 8, 2004 and became German champions in 2004, the new Deutschmacher-Werder song “Lebenslang grünweiß” was broadcast for the first time two days later.
On May 15, 2004 the CD “Werder Bremen - Deutscher Meister 2004” was released by the Original Deutschmacher, which in addition to “Lebenslang grünweiß” also contains “Das 'W' auf dem Trikot” and the Werder music “Sirius”. Less than a week after the release of “Lebenslang grünweiß”, the CD entered the trend charts at number 36. Since a chart placement was foreseeable, a music video for "Lebenslang grünweiß" was shot. On May 31, 2004 “Lebenslang grünweiß” reached number 51 in the German single charts.
