Orkney Rock Festival is a British rock festival held annually in the city of Kirkwall, in the Orkney Islands since 2014. The festival hosts mainly local bands from across Orkney, as well as bands from as far as Aberdeen and Shetland. The festival is held across 3-4 days in several venues across Kirkwall.
History[edit]
The idea of the Orkney Rock Festival was first mentioned by local resident Kristian Cooper, who recognised the existence of the Shetland Rock Festival, and conceived the idea for a rock festival for Orkney.
The first Orkney Rock Festival was hosted in September 2014, with 22 bands performing.
