Dasikane or Dasskane are a religious Umbrella term for Christian Roma people in this parts of Balkans who once belongend to the Ottoman Empire, especially in Bulgaria, in the Romani language, regardless of there different groups or profession.This word was given to them by the Xoraxane Roma at the Balkans.[1] The majority are believers of the old Orthodox Christianity, and some few believers of Pentecostalism. Baptism is a big event for them. They give the nickname to the Xoraxane Roma as chindo (cut= circumcised) or biboldo (unbaptised).[2]. The meaning of the word Dasikane is derived from Sanskrit Shudra-dasika,[3] a low Hindu-caste female slave or servant. Dasikane can also mean slave or servant. Trough immigration as Guest worker from Ex-Yugoslavia there descendants live in Austria and Germany, but also they live in different parts of the World trough immigration.[4]
