Oskar Aanmoen (7 August 1995) is a Norwegian author and historian, known for his work on Nordic military and royal family history.

In 2013, Aanmoen became Norway's youngest historian when he published the book about his family's history at the age of 18.

For his work in promoting royal history, Aanmoen became Commander of the House Order of Hohenzollern.

Aanmoen was part of the Norwegian royal family's official celebration of King Karl Johan in 2018. He was one of four Norwegian historians who gave lectures on King Karl Johan. Aanmoen's lecture was about Karl Johan's journey through Norway in 1818.

Education[edit]

Oskar Aanmoen began studying history at the University of Oslo in 2014 and completed his bachelor's degree in history in just two years. The main thesis was a legal-historical study of Norwegian farmers' attitudes to taxes and fees during the Great Nordic War and was supervised by Professor Hilde Sandvik. Aanmoen completed his master's degree in history in 2018. The master's degree was titled "Illegal connection with the enemy: The Norwegian court settlement from 1808 to 1810 against suspected traitors during the war with Sweden". The thesis was supervised by Professor Odd Arvid Storsveen and is regarded as the national main work on historical treason-research in Norway associated with the Napoleonic era. Oskar Aanmoen has also completed studies in history at the University of Melbourne and Harvard University.
