Otala are an English crank-wave band that formed in Nottingham in 2022, consisting of Rory Allen, Charlotte Foulkes, Fin Hills, Oscar Thorpe, and Jack McInnes.[1]
History
The band self-released their debut EP Tell the Bees on March 3, 2023, the title track of which was picked by Nialler9 to place them on Glastonbury Festival's Emerging Talent Competition Longlist[2] only 13 days later.
In February 2024 the band announced that they will release their first single in over a year, Commedia under Lil Chop Record Shop[3]
Musical influences
Otala's musical style has been described as a fusion of post-rock, jazz, and post-punk[4][5]
