Othervox is a advertising consultancy providing LGBT marketing services to any business wishing to target LGBT people either online or offline. They service clients in all fields but mainly focus on large brands (and their agencies), health organisations (in the public, private and charity sectors) and events organisers.

Origins[edit]

Othervox was created in 2018 by Grindr's former Head of Partnerships (EMEA), Darren Clapich. Following Darren's departure from Grindr, he set up Othervox to help businesses of all sizes access the lucrative LGBT audience.

Although Othervox is based in the UK, it services businesses across the globe and has clients in the USA, The Netherlands, and South Africa, as well as the UK.

Areas of work[edit]

Othervox works in a number of areas: in-app media planning, web media planning, paid social media planning, editorial advertising, audio advertising, video advertising and events and sponsorship. Othervox also provides strategic consultancy and creative direction for campaigns, along with the creative services to support that, such as video production and advertisement design.

Othervox works closely with partners to provide market research, training and PR.

Industry role[edit]

In April 2017, the Founder and Director of Othervox, Darren Clapich, contributed to a UM study on LGBT+ representation in advertising.[1]

In June 2018, the Founder and Director of Othervox was a speaker for the UNAIDS conference in Johannesburg.

In July 2018, the Founder and Director of Othervox appeared on a panel at Wavemaker on the subject of representation of the LGBTQ+ audience in ads and media targeting.[2]

The Founder and Director of Othervox is a 2018 winner of the DIMA 50 Male Advocates for Equality in Marketing & Media.[3]

In 2018, Othervox produced a report containing information and advice on running an advertising campaign targeting the LGBT audience.
