Aliaksei Stanulevich (born 2 June 1993) known as Otnicka is a Belarusian electronic musician, music producer, author of songs. He is best known for his collaborations with Argentine musician, composer and producer, two-time Oscar winner Gustavo Santaolalla.[1]

History[edit]

The beginning of the musician's career was 2009. Having tried himself in various genres for several years, the result was the creation of his own unique style and the creation of the project "Otnicka" in 2014. The prolific sound producer has released many popular singles[2] and remixes[3][4][5][6][7][8], including “Where Are You”, "Babel", "Peaky Blinder", "Mandoline", "Memories" etc.[9][10]. Aliaksei has clearly formed the framework of his genre. It's a mix of Electronic and Deep House. A distinctive feature of the already unique minor sound, in his music, various string instruments recorded by Aliaksei`s himself are most often used, these are guitar, mandolin, charango. Currently he is actively resorting to analog synthesizers, thus a noticeable bright innovation in music.

In 2020 having released a cover version of the track "Babel" with the support of the original author Gustavo Santaolalla, Otnicka received universal recognition[11]

In the same year, the track "Where Are You" was released (a little later, a vocal version of the track was released with the title "Peaky Blinder"). These compositions instantly hit the world charts, while remaining more popular in India and other Eastern countries.

In October 2023 an audience from India accused the music director of the film "Leo", who is Anirudh Ravichander of plagiarism [12]. Listeners claim that the song recorded as the soundtrack to the film is a copy of "Where Are You" and "Peaky Blinder" written by the musician Otnicka back in 2020. This accusation caused a great resonance throughout India. However, Otniсka issued a statement in which he indicated that he is not accusing anyone now, and it takes some time to check, and that his representatives and the label will assess this situation a little later [13][14][15][16][17][18][19][20][21][22][23][24][25][26][27][28][29][30][31][32][33][34][35][36][37][38][39][40][41][42][43][44][45][46][47]

Otnicka also performed Live at the Indian Electronic Music Festival Sunburn Festival Goa 2022 on December 30, 2022[48][49][50]
